Jaunpur: When the administration took a peek, the illegal occupation of 40 years was removed overnight from the historical heritage of the district

Jaunpur. After the strict stand of the district administration, the traders, who have embraced the historical heritage of the district for the last four decades, have removed their encroachment overnight and opened the historical heritage for its recognition. Let us inform here that the district is recognized only by the royal bridge, here there is also a unique statue of a lion on top of an elephant, which is included in the historical heritage of the district and the responsibility of its maintenance is of the Archaeological Department.

The surroundings of this idol were occupied by the business people for the last 40-45 years. The most important thing here is that the property belongs to the Archaeological Department, till date no concrete action has been taken by it in this direction. Not only this, the occupants here were running their shop by opening a shop and the rent has also not been deposited in the government or the Archaeological Department. However, after the eyes of the district administration fell on the plight of this heritage, on Saturday, Additional District Magistrate, Land Revenue, Rajnish Rai, along with the municipality administration and police force, inspected and gave an ultimatum of 24 hours to the concerned occupants to remove the possession, otherwise if the administration at its level. If illegal occupants are removed from it, then the expenses will also be recovered from the occupiers. Along with this, the executive officer of the Municipal Council and the city Kotwal was ordered to run the bulldozer on April 24.

Seeing the attitude of the Chief Revenue Officer, the traders worked for the whole night to remove the illegal occupation by themselves. The occupation of the historical heritage site was removed before the bulldozers arrived. Due to the illegal occupation done here, both the bridge and the idol have lost their original form. Those who do this have been opening the shop for 35-40 years. Those who were given notices on 7 December 2021 and 31 December 2021 to remove the illegal occupation. However, some people had gone to the High Court of Allahabad against this notice.

But, the court did not provide any relief to them. Even after this, there was no effect of this notice on the occupants. The shops were operating at an uninterrupted pace. According to the Additional District Magistrate, Land and Revenue, these occupiers neither have any allotment nor on the property of the Archaeological Department. In lieu of possession, any rent for the last 35-40 years has been deposited in the government or the Archaeological Department. The rent will be recovered from the illegal occupants and the rent will have to be deposited in the register number four of the Archaeological Department or Tehsil.

There is a royal bridge on the Gomti river in the middle of the city with a population of three and a half million, which is adding to the beauty of the city. The district is recognized by this bridge. A unique idol has been built in the middle of this bridge, on which there is a lion on an elephant. Also there is a mosque in front of the idol. The nature of the property of the Archaeological Department of India cannot be changed. But, here it is the opposite. The historical heritage of the district was eclipsed by illegal possession around the lion statue on the elephant, which the district administration has been successful in removing.
